Delete your Watchtower account

You can delete your account and its data from inside the app, or ask us to do it for you. Either way it is permanent - a deleted library cannot be recovered, so export it first if you want to keep it.

If you cannot reach the app - a lost phone, or a sign-in that no longer works - email support@mcschneiderdesigns.com from the address you signed up with, and say that you want your account deleted. We will confirm once it is done, normally within 7 days.

Emailing from the address on the account is how we check the request is really yours. If you signed in with Apple and used Hide My Email, send it from the relay address Apple gave you and it will still match.

What gets deleted

• Your profile: name, email address and photo.
• Your library: every show and film, with your progress and ratings.
• Your lists, and anything in them.
• Your notes, both private and shared.
• The notification tokens and device identifiers used to send you reminders, so your devices stop receiving them.

What needs a request

Friend connections, activity posts and comments are stored separately from your account, because other people can see them. Deleting your account in the app does not remove those on its own. Email us as above and we will delete them too - say so in the message and we will take care of it with the rest.

Deleting some of your data, without closing your account

You do not have to delete your account to get rid of something. In the app you can:

• Remove any show or film from your library, which deletes your progress and rating for it.
• Delete a list, or any title in one.
• Clear a note, private or shared.
• Turn notifications off in Settings, which removes that device's notification token and identifier.
• Delete a comment you wrote.

For anything you cannot reach that way, email support@mcschneiderdesigns.com from the address on your account, say what you want removed, and we will delete it and confirm - normally within 7 days. Your account stays open.

What we keep, and for how long

Nothing that identifies you. Deletion is immediate and we hold no backup copy of your library. Anonymous, aggregated usage counts - how many people use a feature, with nothing tying them to a person - are unaffected, because they cannot be traced back to an account.
